St Anthony

St Anthony

Year 2 is a great year to be in, we will try hard to make all your lessons enjoyable and creative by using drama, role play and using lots of resources.  However, we still expect you to carry on growing as independent learners and continue building on the good practices you started in year 1.

In Year 2 we will continue building on your phonics knowledge and working towards making you even more confident and independent in your writing as well as helping you to write for longer periods.  We hope you will enjoy being introduced to a wider range of books and types of writing.   You will continue to expand your knowledge of numbers and during the year we will introduce you to time, fractions and even roman numerals!    You will get to learn even more about different objects in the world around you in Science and in History you will learn about significant events and people from the past that have shaped our future.

We look forward to you joining us on our exciting journey!

Children in St Anthony’s Class are taught by Mrs Rogers and Mrs Allen.  The teaching assistant in this class is Mrs Tsanakakis.

Classroom Location
St Anthony is located in the last classroom down the corridor on the left.  Access to the infant playground is from the classroom playground door.

Mrs Rogers or Mrs Allen will be available at the end of the school day for any concerns.

These are the common exception words for Year 1 and 2 as discussed at the Meet the Teacher meeting. By the end of KS1 the children are expected to be able to read and write them all correctly. We will rehearse them in class and in our writing but it would be helpful if they could be practised at home as well.
